Hello! I'm Philip Olsén, an ambitious Game Designer & Cinematic Designer with a background in filmmaking, who specializes in the aesthetic parts of game design.

Through awesome visuals, sound, narrative, and game feel — along with constant playtesting, feedback, collaboration, and iteration — I aim to create the most exciting, emotional, and immersive experiences possible for players.

I'm a student at PlaygroundSquad, and I am looking for an internship within one or multiple areas of game development: mainly game design, cinematic design, marketing and trailers. But I'm also interested in narrative design, level design, sound design, and lighting.

(I did not use AI to write this, I promise I'm one of the few that actually uses the em dash!)

Trailers

I've created many trailers for our game projects, from start to finish — capturing gameplay footage, working with artists, staging cameras, lighting, and in-game objects. Then rendering out shots and editing everything together in post with cinematic sound design, graphics, and color grading, to create impactful and memorable videos that entice players and showcase the games in their best light.

I've also helped many of my artist friends in using Unreal Engine's sequencer, to create cinematic videos of their beautiful portfolio art pieces.

About Me

I love narrative games (especially sci-fi) — like Outer Wilds, Cyberpunk 2077, Soma, and Mass Effect — that take you on an adventure, make you feel something profound, and sometimes even changes your outlook on philosophy and life. They've inspired me to make games, to contribute to the medium, and to hopefully give players more of these incredible experiences.
